Subject: Letter to Incur Costs - Additional Ten (10) Youth@Work Participant Slots (Program Year 2026-2027 Transition)
Dear Mr. Marquez,
As a follow-up to the recently awarded additional allocation of ten (10) Youth@Work participant slots, the SELACO Workforce Development Board (SELACO WDB) is pleased to authorize the City of Hawaiian Gardens to incur costs associated with these additional participants, effective July 01, 2026.
This authorization is intended to ensure a seamless continuation of services for the ten (10) participants who were enrolled during early May under the additional allocation. By transitioning these participants into the new Program Year effective July 1, 2026, participants will be able to continue their Work Experience (WEX) assignments without interruption, while minimizing any disruption to participating worksites and employers. This approach ensures continuity of employment, participant engagement, and worksite operations through the completion of their Work Experience.
Accordingly, the City of Hawaiian Gardens is hereby authorized, effective July 01, 2026, under additional funding, to incur allowable costs associated with these ten (10) additional participant slots, in accordance with the Youth@Work Program requirements and the executed agreement.
