RESOLUTION NO. 027-2026
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HAWAIIAN GARDENS,
AUTHORIZING A FOURTH AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT FOR
REIMBURSEMENT FOR HELICOPTER PATROL SERVICES BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF HAWAIIAN GARDENS AND THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD – SKY KNIGHT PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the City Council of Lakewood approved an agreement on May 28, 2019, with the County of Los Angeles entitled “Helicopter Patrol Law Enforcement Services Agreement by and between County of Los Angeles and City of Lakewood” (the “County Agreement”); and
WHEREAS, by the terms and provisions of the County Agreement, the County of Los Angeles has agreed to provide helicopter patrol law enforcement services within the corporate limits of Lakewood; and
WHEREAS, by the terms and provisions of the County Agreement, the County of Los Angeles has agreed through the Sheriff to participate in a helicopter patrol program within the corporate limits of Lakewood, and within other cities should said other cities elect to participate in this program, and enter into an agreement with Lakewood whereby said other cities would agree to reimburse Lakewood for their share of the cost of services thereunder; and
WHEREAS, the City of Hawaiian Gardens (“City) entered into that certain Agreement for Reimbursement for Helicopter Patrol Services dated November 16, 2022, as amended (the “Agreement”), and
WHEREAS, the City reimburses the City of Lakewood for helicopter patrol services within the City’s jurisdiction as set forth in the Agreement; and WHEREAS, the Agreement shall remain effective during the term of the County Agreement , and is subject to the terms and provisions of said agreement; and WHEREAS, the Agreement, as amended by the Fourth Amendment, supersedes all previous agreements between the City of Lakewood and City with respect to reimbursement for helicopter patrol law enforcement services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HAWAIIAN GARDENS AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council hereby approves Resolution No. 027-2026 authorizing the Fourth Amendment to Agreement for Reimbursement for Helicopter Patrol Services for the Sky Knight Program, with an effective date of July 1, 2026 and a termination date of June 30, 2027.

SECTION 2: The Mayor of the City of Hawaiian Gardens is hereby authorized to affix his signature to this Resolution signifying its approval and adoption by the City Council of the City of Hawaiian Gardens.
SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Hawaiian Gardens is hereby directed to attest hereto; and shall cause this Resolution and its certification to be entered into the Book of Resolutions of the City Council of the City of Hawaiian Gardens.
