RESOLUTION NO. 029-2026
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HAWAIIAN GARDENS, COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES, STATE OF
CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE 2026-2027 FISCAL BUDGET AND
AUTHORIZING AN INCREASE IN ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP DUES
TO THE CALIFORNIA CITIES FOR SELF-RELIANCE JOINT
POWERS AUTHORITY
WHEREAS, in 2001, the City joined the California Cities for Self-Reliance Joint Powers Authority (“Authority”) to promote and protect the common economic interests of its member cities. Each participating member pays an annual membership fee to the Authority; WHEREAS, on July 23, 2026, the City received a letter from the Authority notifying the City of an increased annual membership fee from $37,500 to $46,400.75, representing an increase of $8,900.75;
WHEREAS, the City Council previously adopted a two-year citywide budget for Fiscal Years 2025-2026 and 2026-2027, which was amended with Resolution No. 032-2025 on October 22, 2025; and
WHEREAS, the allocated 2026-2027 budget for the California Cities for Self-Reliance Joint Powers Authority was $37,500, requiring a budget increase of $8,900.75 to satisfy the new membership dues of $46,400.75;
WHEREAS, the City Council is responsible for properly managing and maintaining the City’s finances;
WHEREAS, the City Council may amend the budget at any time.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HAWAIIAN GARDENS THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Council hereby adopts Resolution No. 029-2026 amending the Fiscal Year 2026-2027 budget and authorizing an increase of $8,900.75 for a total of $46,400.75 in annual membership dues to the California Cities for Self-Reliance Joint Powers Authority.
SECTION 2. The Mayor of the City is hereby authorized to affix his/her signature to this Resolution signifying its approval and adoption by the City Council.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk, or his/her duly appointed Deputy, is hereby directed to attest hereto; and shall cause this Resolution and its certification to be entered into the Book of Resolutions of the City Council.
SECTION 4. This Resolution shall be effective immediately 2 PASSED, AND ADOPTED on this 26th day of August 2026, by the City Council of the City of Hawaiian Gardens.
