RECOMMENDATION:
RECOMMENDATION TO ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 029-2026 AMENDING THE 2026- 2027 FISCAL YEAR BUDGET AND AUTHORIZING AN INCREASE IN ANNUAL
MEMBERSHIP DUES TO THE CALIFORNIA CITIES FOR SELF-RELIANCE JOINT
POWERS AUTHORITY
SUMMARY
In 2001, the City joined the California Cities for Self-Reliance Joint Powers Authority (“Authority”) to promote and protect the common economic interests of its member cities.
Each participating member pays an annual membership fee to the Authority.
On July 23, 2026, the City received a letter from the Authority that its annual operating budget for Fiscal Year 2026-2027 would increase from $226,500 to $262,103. As a result, the City’s annual membership fee will increase from $37,500 to $46,400.75, representing an overall increase of $8,900.75.
The City operates under a two-year citywide budget and adopted the Fiscal Year 2025- 2026 and 2026-2027 budgets, which were amended with Resolution 032-2025. The attached Resolution No. 029-2026 amends the FY 2026-2027 budget and authorizes an increase of $8,900.75 for a total of $46,400.75 to satisfy the California Cities for SelfReliance Joint Powers Authority new membership dues .
FISCAL IMPACT
The approved budget amendment will increase expenditures by $8,900.75 and be appropriated from the General Fund.
