CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Vargas called the City Council meeting to order at 6:38 p.m. in the Memorial Center Venus Room, 3901 W. El Segundo Blvd., Hawthorne, California.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Deputy City Clerk Juan Esquivel led the Pledge ofAllegiance.

ROLL CALL- Present: Councilmembers Monteiro, Patterson, Reyes English, Valentine,
Patterson, Mayor Vargas.
Absent: None.
ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
1. Ruben Sanchez spoke against developers, favored real investment, real corporations and real comparnes.
STUDY SESSION
2. Strategic Studies for Economic Development by William R. Kelly, President/CEO ofKelly Associates Management Group
William Kelly of Kelly Associates Management Group conducted a study session with the members ofthe City Council to review the results ofthe SWOT discussions previously held with city staff, Hawthorne citizens and the Councilmembers. The City Council set a priority for the items for staff to focus on.
ADJOURNMENT
Mayor Vargas adjourned the special meeting at 8:00 p.m.
