Approval of Agreement Between The City of Hawthorne and the City of Gardena For Supplemental Law Enforcement (Medical Director) Services.
RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Staff recommends the City Council approve and authorize the City Manager to execute the Agreement Between The City of Hawthorne And The City of Gardena For Supplemental Law Enforcement (Medical Director) Services.
DISCUSSION:
The Hawthorne Police Department has been providing Supplemental Law Enforcement Medical Director Services for the Gardena Police Department for the last three years. The City’s Police Department staff has requested to continue the service for another year. The Hawthorne Police Department Medical Director will oversee the City of Gardena Police Department CPR, First Aid, AED, Narcan, and Tactical Medicine training. Hawthorne Medical Director will develop and maintain standard policies and procedures to provide optimal first responder medical care for the community of Gardena. Medical Director will provide continuing education, training and oversee the quality assurance and quality improvement program. The police department of both cities agreed upon an annual cost of $25,000 for one (1) year for the proposed service requested.

Generating revenue for the City of Hawthorne by providing supplemental law enforcement Medical Director services.
