The City previously made and entered into an agreement with the Department of Transportation on March 9, 1981 to document the understanding between agencies regarding the jurisdictional limits between the City’s streets and roadways and the state highway.

The City shall perform all maintenance, inspections, repair, replace or complete other improvements necessary to maintain the safety of the following state highway system facilities within the City’s jurisdictional limits: overcrossings (vehicular and non-vehicular), undercrossings (vehicular and non-vehicular), walls (retaining walls, columns, soundwalls), bicycle, pedestrian paths, lanes and trails, landscaped areas, street lightings and weed abatement.
