Mr. Akbar and Selena,
Here in the City Of Hawthorne our Mechanics have always provided their own tools, Other Cities provide a yearly tool allowance for the use and repairs of personal tools, our Mechanics have always absorbed the loss. With the rising and already high prices of tools needed to professionally repair our City fleet it has become a burden on our Mechanics to replace broken or lost tools. We are asking that the City help us out with professional tool sets for each of our mechanics.
I have attached a sole source quote from Snapon tools for 3 sets In the amount of $112,207.07
Snap-on Metric 9300GMBO $37,402.35 per set.
Each set includes 600 pieces of tools (sockets, wrenches, screw drivers etc.), roll cab tool box and top chest.
