ADOPT A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH KITTELSON & ASSOCIATES, INC., FOR TRANSPORTATION PLANNING SERVICES FOR THE LOCAL ROAD SAFETY PLAN, PROJECT 05738, IN AN AMOUNT NOT-TO-EXCEED $90,000 WHEREAS, the Caltrans’ Division of Local Assistance awarded the City of Hayward (City) a $90,000 grant for the Local Road Safety Plan (LRSP) project; and WHEREAS, the project has an appropriated budget of $100,000, with the10% local-match requirement in the Transportation System Improvement Fund (Fund 460), through the Fiscal Year 2021-2022 budget process; and WHEREAS, the LRSP will provide the framework for organizing stakeholders to identify, analyze, and prioritize roadway safety improvements on local roads; and WHEREAS, a Request for Proposals for the LRSP project was released on January 18, 2022, and the City received six proposals; and WHEREAS, an evaluation panel of Public Works staff unanimously determined Kittelson to be the most suitable consultant to prepare a LRSP.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Haywardthat the City Manager is authorized to execute a professional services agreement with Kittelson & Associates, Inc., for transportation planning services for the LSRP project in an amount not-to-exceed $90,000, in a form approved by the City Attorney.
