RESOLUTION NO. 22-

RESOLUTION APPROVING AND APPROPRIATING FY 2022 RECOVERY FUNDS FOR ARTS AND MUSIC AGENCIES WHEREAS, the City of Hayward has allocated a portion of its General Fund to a competitive funding process for organizations serving the Hayward community; and WHEREAS, on April 27, 2021, the City Council approved and appropriated $82,000 for Fiscal Year 2022 in the Arts & Music Funding Category; and WHEREAS, during the pandemic, many of the social services agencies received an influx of additional funding to provide COVID related programming for the Hayward community; and WHEREAS, staff has identified one-time supplemental funding to support the Arts and Music agencies as the City enters the recovery phase of the pandemic; and WHEREAS, this one-time supplemental funding for the current fiscal year is meant to reinvigorate engagement in arts and music programming in Hayward as more activities return to in-person; and WHEREAS, the City Council has considered public testimony and the funding recommendations prepared by staff, a copy of which is attached and hereby referred to for further particulars.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Hayward hereby approves and allocates FY 2022 Recovery funds for Arts and Music Agencies in the Arts and Music Category, as shown in Exhibit A, in a total amount not to exceed $82,755 which is incorporated by reference herein.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to amend the FY 2022 Arts and Music contracts as shown in Exhibit A, in the name of and for and on behalf of the City of Hayward, in a form to be approved by the City Attorney.
