RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AND ENTER INTO A FIVE-YEAR AGREEMENT WITH LWP CLAIMS SOLUTIONS FOR ADMINISTRATION OF THE CITY OF HAYWARD’S WORKERS’ COMPENSATION CLAIMS SERVICES FOR A TOTAL NOT TO EXCEED AMOUNT OF $2,500,000 WHEREAS, the City of Hayward is self-insured for workers’ compensation claims and uses the services of a third-party to provide claims administration, legal services, statistical analysis of claims and costs, and return to work program development and implementation; and WHEREAS, the City of Hayward conducted an open and competitive Request for Proposal process for the provision of workers’ compensation claim administration services and LWP Claims Solutions was identified as the most qualified firm to provide these services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Hayward does hereby authorize and direct the City Manager to execute a five-year agreement with LWP Claims Solutions, effective July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2027, in a form approved by the City Attorney, for a total not-to-exceed amount of $2,500,000.
