Is there a plan to develop g roundwater expertise in City Staff?
Two years ago, Council approved the addition of a Senior Water Resources Engineer.
The position description included implementation of a diverse range of water resources activities, including sustainable groundwater management. However, two attempts to recruit and fill the position have been unsuccessful. The plan is to try again and fill the position. While staff has some groundwater management knowledge, the position would be very helpful. In addition to staff efforts, there will always be a need to supplement staff with consultants who are experts in various aspects of groundwater engineering and management.
