RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH THE GARLAND COMPANY FOR THE HAYWARD POLICE DEPARMENT HEADQUARTERS ROOF REPLACEMENT, PROJECT 07203 IN AN AMOUNT NOT-TO-EXCEED $1,160,865 WHEREAS, the City of Hayward (“City”) owns and operates Hayward Police Department Headquarters; and WHEREAS, a review of the structural condition of roof replacement was completed in May 2018; and WHEREAS, the findings revealed that roof showed signs of wear and repair or replacement would be required; and WHEREAS, the Maintenance Services Department/Facilities Division was able to procure a vendor through a publicly bid, pre-negotiated agreement through OMNIA Partners (formerly US Communities), which specializes in public sector cooperative purchasing opportunities, as part of a prior Request for Proposals with the County of Racine, Wisconsin; and WHEREAS, the vendor selected through this process was The Garland Company; and WHEREAS, the cost for the project is $1,160,865; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Hayward that the City Manager is hereby authorized to negotiate and execute a contract, in a form approved by the City Attorney, with The Garland Company, in an amount not-to-exceed $1,160,865, for roof replacement to the Hayward Police Department Headquarters, in a form approved by the City Attorney.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Hayward hereby approves the amendment to the budget resolutions, Resolution 22-146 and Resolution 22-147, authorizing the transfer and appropriation of $1,160,865 from the Workers’ Compensation Fund to the General Fund Capital Fund for this Project.
