RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTATE AND EXECUTE A LEASE AGREEMENT WITH FORESTR.ORG FOR THE HAZEL COMMUNITY GARDEN THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2023, WITH AN OPTION FOR A TWO-YEAR EXTENSION WHEREAS, Hayward community members in the Prospect Hill neighborhood have maintained a public garden on the parcel at 22196 Main Street for many years, referred to as the Hazel Community Garden; and WHEREAS, the City and Forstr.org have the mutual goal of sustaining the Hazel Garden for the benefit of the surrounding neighborhoods.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Hayward that the City Manager is authorized and directed to negotiate and execute a lease agreement for a community garden with Forestr.org for 22196 Main Street through December 31, 2023, with an option for a two-year extension.
