RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE AMENDMENT NO.1 TO THE CONTRACT WITH NEWTON CONSTRUCTION & MANAGEMENT FOR THE WORKSPACE RECONFIGURATION FOR FIRE ADMINISTRATION BY INCREASING THE CONTRACT AMOUNT BY $36,850, FOR A TOTAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $348,612.
WHEREAS, the City of Hayward and Newton Construction & Management entered into a contract dated the 24th day of February 2022, for the workspace reconfiguration for Fire Administration; and WHEREAS, unforeseen construction conditions requires an increase to the existing contract to complete the project; and WHEREAS, City Council approved the increase in project budget through the FY2023 Midyear process.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Hayward authorizes the City Manager to execute Amendment No. 1 with Newton Construction Management, for additional services related to the workspace reconfiguration for Fire Administration, in the amount of $36,850 thereby increasing the total contract not-to-exceed amount to $348,612 for, in a form approved by the City Attorney.
