RESOLUTION APPROVING THE EXTENSION AND MODIFICATION OF THE EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF HAYWARD AND CITY MANAGER AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT WHEREAS, the employment agreement between the City of Hayward and the City Manager Kelly McAdoo will expire on June 30, 2023: and WHEREAS, the Employer recognizes the Employee’s satisfactory performance and wishes to extend an employment agreement through June 30, 2028; and WHEREAS, a total compensation market study conducted in May 2023 indicated Employee’s salary was approximately sixteen percent (16%) below the market median for City Manager; and WHEREAS, Employee and Employer have agreed to a nineteen and nine-tenths percent (19.9%) equity salary adjustment and an equipment stipend of one-thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500.00) per month effective the pay period including July 1, 2023.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Hayward hereby approves the employment agreement between the City of Hayward and the City Manager beginning July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2028 and authorizes the Mayor to execute the agreement.
