Alternative 3: This alternative provides a full diamond interchange at Whitesell Street with no SR-92 access to/from Clawiter Road. The new Whitesell Street overcrossing has a reduced skew to provide increased intersection spacing and improved traffic operations. The alternative includes realignment of Breakwater Avenue to maintain local east-west circulation between Clawiter Road and Whitesell Street. The existing Clawiter Road overcrossing is maintained to provide local bicycle and pedestrian circulation across SR-92. This alternative also includes a new Production Avenue overcrossing to provide local north-south circulation with additional local road improvements on Eden Landing Road and Investment Boulevard. This alternative has the largest footprint and highest costs comparatively.
These preliminary alternatives will be presented to the Council Infrastructure Committee to garner feedback to be incorporated into the PID phase. The alternatives presented will be further refined during the PA&ED phase through consultation with stakeholders and the public as required by CEQA and NEPA.
