RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPROPRIATE FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $60,000 FROM MEASURE B PEDESTRIAN AND BICYCLE (FUND 216) FOR THE A BENCH FOR EVERY BUS STOP PILOT PROGRAM PROJECT NO. 05343 WHEREAS, representatives to AC Transit Interagency Liaison Committee (ILC) requested that staff collaborate with AC Transit on their Accessibility Assessment of bus stops on September 26, 2023; and WHEREAS, the pilot program was approved at the Council meeting held on October 10, 2023, with a modification for the pilot to include ten seats; and WHEREAS, the pilot program expanded to 12 Simme Seats to meet the minimum order quantity required by Simme LLC, the sole source vendor for Simme Seats; and WHEREAS, the fiscal impact of the A Bench at Every Bus Stop Pilot Program is $60,000 and will be funded from Fund 216, Measure B Pedestrian and Bicycle; and WHEREAS, Measure B (Pedestrian and Bicycle) Fund 216 has sufficient funds to support this effort.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Hayward hereby authorizes and directs the City Manager to appropriate $60,000 and implement A Bench for Every Bus Stop Pilot Program Project No. 05343 from Measure B (Pedestrian and Bicycle) Fund 216.
FURTHERMORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Hayward hereby approve the amendment to the FY 2024 Budget Resolution with the appropriation of $60,000 in Fund 216 (Measure B Pedestrian and Bicycle).
