RESOLUTION Authorizing the City Manager to Execute a Two-Year Agreement with Flock Safety for the Purchase of Thirty-Five (35) Additional Flock Safety Automated License Plate Reader Cameras in an Amount Not-to-Exceed $300,000, and Not-to-Exceed $500,000 for All Agreements with Flock SAFETY WHEREAS, the City of Hayward contracts with Flock Safety for twenty-nine automated license plate reader cameras; and WHEREAS, the City of Hayward intends to contract with Flock Safety for the purchase of an additional thirty-five automated license plate reader cameras for an amount not to exceed $300,000; and WHEREAS, automated license plate reader cameras increase crime solvability rates and combat in-progress crimes; and WHEREAS, Flock Safety is a sole source vendor; and
WHEREAS, the Hayward Police Department intends to fund this purchase through the Capital Improvement Project 07411 – Field Operations Equipment; and WHEREAS, the two-year Flock Safety agreement is not-to-exceed $300,000 and all agreements with Flock Safety. are not to exceed $500,000 over a two-year period.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Hayward that the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute an agreement with Flock Safety for the purchase of thirty-five automated license plate reader cameras in an amount not-to-exceed $300,000 and not-to-exceed $500,000 for all agreements with Flock Safety.
