RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXTENSION OF THE COUNCIL HOMLESSNESS-HOUSING TASK FORCE THROUGH JUNE 2024 WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 19-020, dated January 29, 2019, the City Council of the City of Hayward established the Homelessness-Housing Task Force for a two-year period beginning in March 2019 through March 2021 to help facilitate a more in-depth evaluation of options to address the current homelessness-housing crisis; WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 20-219, dated December 8, 2020, the City Council of the City of Hayward approved an extension of the Homelessness-Housing Task Force for a two-year period through March 2023 to continue to address homelessness and housing concerns in the City of Hayward; WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 23-027, dated February 7, 2023, the City Council of the City of Hayward approved an extension of the Homelessness-Housing Task Force for a one-year period through March 2024 to continue to address homelessness and housing concerns in the City of Hayward; WHEREAS, the term of the Homelessness-Housing Task Force has expired and the City Council desires to extend the Council Homelessness-Housing Task Force through June 2024 and to hold one additional meeting to determine next steps.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council authorizes the extension of the Council Homelessness-Housing Task Force through June 2024 with currently assigned members of the task force.
