RESOLUTION AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR AN ON-CALL CONSULTANT FOR WATER, SEWER, AND RECYCLED WATER PIPELINE PROJECTS TO GSW CONSTRUCTION INC. IN AN AMOUNT NOT-TO-EXCEED $500,000 WHEREAS, the City’s Water Distribution System is comprised of approximately 375 miles of pipeline, 16 water storage reservoirs, and 10 pump stations; and WHEREAS, The City’s sewer system consists of about 325 miles of sanitary sewer pipelines, nine wastewater lift stations, 2.5 miles of force mains, and the Water Resource Recovery Facility (WRRF), formerly Water Pollution Control Facility (WPCF); and WHEREAS, the recycled water system is comprised of a treatment facility, storage tank, pump station, and approximately 8.5 miles of distribution pipeline, used to deliver tertiary-treated recycled water to sites near the WRRF for landscape irrigation and industrial uses; and WHEREAS, on May 9, 2024, the City issued a Request for Proposal (RFP), through the City’s procurement portal, for on-call Consultant to work collaboratively with City staff on emergency tasks and small projects related to the water, sewer, and recycled water pipelines; and WHEREAS, the City selected GSW Construction Inc. to provide the on-call services following an extensive review of all bidders.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Hayward, that the Interim City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a Professional Services Agreement with GSW Construction Inc. for an on-call services related to water, sewer, and recycled water pipeline projects, in a form approved by the City Attorney, in an amount not-to-exceed $500,000.
