RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE REPORT AND SPECIAL ASSESSMENT LIST AND AUTHORIZING TRANSMITTAL OF ASSESSMENT TO THE COUNTY AUDITOR FOR COLLECTION ASSOCIATED WITH OVERDUE TENANT RELOCATION ASSISTANCE PAYMENTS FOR THE PERIOD OF JUNE 1, 2023 THROUGH JUNE 1, 2024 WHEREAS, in conjunction with the Tenant Relocation Assistance Ordinance (TRAO), the Housing Division Manager has rendered an itemized report herein referred to as an assessment list (Attachment III) in writing to this Council showing the Tenant Relocation Assistance failure to pay as required by Section 12-2.11 of the TRAO; and WHEREAS, the Housing Division Manager has rendered an assessment list, specifying the amount of unpaid reimbursements imposed during the above identified period, and the names and addresses of owners of rental units, as stipulated by TRAO Regulations; WHEREAS, the hour of 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, in the Council Chambers, City Hall, 777 B Street, Hayward, California, was fixed as the time and place for this Council to receive and consider the report, and a copy of the report has been published as stipulated by TRAO Regulations; and WHEREAS, the hearing was held as time and placed, and the City Council has considered the report and assessment list and all comments with respect thereto.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Hayward that, except as amended by Council, the report from the Housing Division Manager on past due relocation assistance reimbursement payments related to displacement of tenants occupying the property therein described, a copy of which is attached hereto, is hereby confirmed.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that payments of assessments confirmed hereby may be received by the City of Hayward Finance Director up to the hour of 5 p.m. on August 1, 2024, and thereafter, the Finance Director shall transmit the unpaid assessment to the County Auditor for collection on the property tax roll.
