RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE SIDE LETTER AGREEMENT AMENDING THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MOU), SECTION 5.01 MEDICAL INSURANCE BETWEEN THE CITY OF HAYWARD AND THE HAYWARD FIRE CHIEFS’ ASSOCIATION (HFCA), TO CORRECTLY REFLECT THE RETIREE MEDICAL INSURNACE CONTRIBUTION AMOUNT WHEREAS, the current MOU, Section 5.01 Medical Insurance between the City of Hayward and the HFCA, incorrectly reflects the monthly existing retiree medical insurance contribution amount; and WHEREAS, the proposed change will correctly reflect the existing retiree Medical insurance contribution amount from three hundred dollars ($300.00) per month to five hundred eight dollars and thirty cents ($508.30) for each active employee, each eligible retired employee, or the eligible survivor of a retired employee who subscribes for coverage.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE City Council hereby approves the correction to the MOU, Section 5.01 Medical Insurance provision for the period of September 16, 2021, through June 30, 2024, and authorizes staff to execute said agreements, a copy of which will be on file in the Office of the City Clerk.
