RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO AMEND PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENTS WITH CSG Consultants, EKI Environment & Water, Harris & Associates, Lee and Ro, and V.W. Housen & Associates, FOR on-call engineering support services, EXTENDING EACH AGREEMENT BY A DURATION OF 18 MONTHS to JUNE 30, 2026 WITH NO CHANGE IN DOLLAR AMOUNT WHEREAS, the City of Hayward (City) owns, operates and maintains a water distribution system, wastewater collection and treatment facilities and a recycled water system; and WHEREAS, Utilities Engineering staff is responsible for managing Capital Improvement Projects (CIP), reviewing private development projects, and responding to customers’ inquiries related to water, sanitary sewer, wastewater treatment, and recycled water; and WHEREAS, increasing economic growth and development in the City combined with vacancies in the utilities engineering division is impacting staff’s abilities to complete critical CIP projects and customer service responsibilities; and WHEREAS, staff has determined that consultant assistance is necessary to implement some CIP projects and augment staff resources on a short-term basis; and WHEREAS, in 2023, on call agreements were executed with five engineering consulting firms which are set to expire in 2024.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Hayward that the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Hayward, amendments to the existing Professional Services Agreements with CSG Consultants, EKI Environment & Water, Harris & Associates, Lee and Ro, and V.W. Housen & Associates, for on-call engineering support services, extending each agreement by a duration of 18 months to June 30, 2026 with no change in dollar amount, in a form approved by the City Attorney.
