HAYWARD CITY COUNCIL RESOLUTION NO. 24-

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT TO GAMETIME (MRC) FOR THE PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT DESIGN AND INSTALLATION AT VARIOUS LANDSCAPE AND LIGHTING ASSESSMENT DISTRCT PARKS IN AN AMOUNT NOT-TO-EXCEED $745,000 WHEREAS, the Landscape Maintenance Division manages maintenance in eighteen (18) Landscape and Lighting Assessment Districts (LLAD) throughout the City; and WHEREAS, Twin Bridges Park and Gordon E. Oliver Eden Shores Park are in LLAD 7 and 10, respectively; and WHEREAS, in February 2024, the Division released a Request for Proposal (RFP) to solicit proposals for the design, removal, and installation of new play structures and swings at these Parks; and WHEREAS, from April 2024 – July 2024, staff received and reviewed thirty-two (32) proposals from four (4) vendors; and WHEREAS, staff communicated with the respective LLAD homeowner association groups and homeowners of the bid, responses, and construction, and sought feedback; and WHEREAS, GameTime (MRC) submitted favorable proposals; and WHEREAS, the cost for Twin Bridges Park is $245,000 to be paid out of LLAD 7’s Fund 274 and the cost for Gordon E. Oliver Eden Shores Park is $500,000 to be paid out of LLAD 10’s Fund 277; and WHEREAS, the FY25 Adopted LLAD Budget has sufficient budget already appropriated to the Maintenance Services Department for this effort.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Hayward that the City Manager is hereby authorized to negotiate and execute a construction contract, in a form approved by the City Attorney, with GameTime (MRC) for the design and installation of new playground structures in an amount not-to-exceed $745,000.
