RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT AND APPROPRIATE $265,000 IN GRANT FUNDING FROM THE CALIFORNIA OFFICE OF TRAFFIC SAFETY FOR THE HAYWARD POLICE DEPARTMENT WHEREAS, the Hayward Police Department applied for and was recently awarded $265,000 in grant funding from the State of California Office of Traffic Safety for use by the Hayward Police Department to implement best practice strategies under the Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP); and WHEREAS, the Hayward Police Department shall use awarded funds to reduce the number of persons killed and injured in traffic collisions involving alcohol and other primary collision factors under the provisions of the grant agreement; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Hayward that the Interim City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to:
Accept and appropriate $265,000 in grant funding from the California Office of Traffic Safety for use by the Hayward Police Department; and Amend the FY 2025 budget resolution by increasing the budget appropriation by $265,000 in funding from the California Office of Traffic Safety.
