AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH KIMLEY-HORN & ASSOCIATES, INC., FOR CONSULTING SERVICES FOR THE PRELIMINARY ENGINEERING PHASE OF THE TENNYSON ROAD CROSSING SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS, PROJECT NO. 06944 IN AN AMOUNT NOT-TO-EXCEED $549,772.26 WHEREAS, professional service assistance is needed for the Preliminary Engineering Phase of the Tennyson Road Rail Crossing Safety Project, Project No. 06944; and WHEREAS, the Preliminary Engineering Phase will provide environmental clearance, final plans and specifications, and submittal for modification of an existing rail crossing to the California Public Utilities Commission; and WHEREAS, on July 9, 2024, four (4) valid proposals were received and evaluated based on qualifications and Kimley-Horn & Associates, Inc. was ranked the highest with an average score of 89.5/100 based on criteria established in the Request for Proposal 24-031; and WHEREAS, the negotiated cost proposal is in the amount of $549,772.26.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute a professional services agreement with Kimley-Horn & Associates, Inc., for consulting services in a not-to-exceed amount of $549,772.26, in a form to be approved by the City Attorney.
