RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT AND APPROPRIATE $20,000 IN FUNDING FROM THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA OFFICE OF TRAFFIC SAFETY TO THE HAYWARD POLICE DEPARTMENT TO FUND NO-COST MOTORCYCLE TRAINING COURSES OFFERED TO THE PUBLIC WHEREAS, the State of California Office of Traffic Safety has agreed to award the City of Hayward Police Department $20,000 as part of a Motorcyclist Safety Education and Training Program grant; and WHEREAS, the Hayward Police Department shall use this award to fund three no-cost “Live to Ride” motorcycle courses offered by Hayward Police Department’s Traffic Unit staff, to the public, in an effort to reduce the number of persons killed and injured in motorcycle collisions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Hayward that the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to accept and appropriate $20,000 in funding from the California Office of Traffic Safety to the Hayward Police Department to fund three no-cost “Live to Ride” motorcycle courses to be offered to the public.
FURTHERMORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Hayward hereby amend the FY 2025 budget resolution by accepting and appropriating $20,000 in grant fund from the California Office of Traffic Safety to the Hayward Police Department.
