A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING/DISCOURAGING SUPPORT OF THE CALIFORNIA CITIES POLICY RESOLUTION BEING CONSIDERED AT THE CAL CITIES 2024 ANNUAL CONFERENCE WHEREAS, the City of Hayward is a member of Cal Cities, and the Cal Cities Annual Conference is scheduled for October 16-18, 2024, in Long Beach; and WHEREAS, as a member in good standing with the League of California Cities, the City of Hayward is entitled to vote on policy matters that come before the League at its Annual Business (General Assembly) Meeting, scheduled to take place on September 17, 2024; and WHEREAS, one League policy resolution will be considered at the League’s 2024 Annual Conference.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Hayward City Council hereby directs the City’s Voting Delegate to vote in support/against of the following League policy resolutions at the 2024 League of California Cities Annual Conference during the League’s Annual Business (General Assembly) Meeting:
Resolution No. 1:
A RESOLUTION OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES CALLING FOR THE CALIFORNIA LEGISLATURE TO ENACT LAWS THAT ENSURE THAT “WHAT APPLIES TO ONE, APPLIES TO ALL” IN THE FAIR AND EQUAL TREATMENT OF ALL GOVERNMENTAL OFFICIALS AT ALL LEVELS IN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Hayward City Council hereby also directs the City’s Voting Delegate to vote in support of/against the proposed resolution as outlined in the accompanying staff report.
