RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT AND APPROPRIATE UP TO $30,000 IN GRANT FUNDING ANNUALLY IN FISCAL YEARS 2025 THROUGH 2030 FROM THE ALAMEDA COUNTY OFFICE OF HOMELAND SECURITY FOR THE HAYWARD FIRE DEPARTMENT’S COMMUNITY EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM PROGRAM WHEREAS, Alameda County’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Services provides sub-recipient grants to local jurisdictions to run Community Emergency Response Team (“CERT”) programs; and WHEREAS, the City of Hayward Fire Department uses this grant money to provide annual CERT courses for community members to learn skills that will enable them to provide emergency assistance to their families and neighbors; and WHEREAS, the City of Hayward Fire Department anticipates receiving up to $30,000 in grant funding from the County Office of Homeland Security, annually, in fiscal years (“FY”) 2025 through 2030.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Hayward authorizes the City Manager to accept up to $30,000 in grant funding, annually, in FY 2025 through 2030, for a total amount not to exceed $150,000, from the Alameda County Office of Homeland Security to be appropriated into fund 240 for HFD’s provision of CERT programming.
