Resolution Authorizing the City Manager to Appropriate $45,000 from the Asset Forfeiture Fund (265) to the General Fund (100) to purchase new equipment for the hayward police department’s wellness center WHEREAS, the Hayward Police Department strives to continue to prioritize the health and well-being of sworn and professional staff; WHEREAS, the current wellness equipment at the Hayward Police Department Wellness Center was originally purchased in 2005, and since then, a significant portion of the equipment has become unreliable, posing risks to both physical safety and overall wellness; WHEREAS, the total amount being requested to cover the cost of new wellness equipment is $45,000; WHEREAS, funding new wellness equipment with Asset Forfeiture Funds will improve officer safety, health, and performance by providing reliable, modern, and safe equipment without impacting the City’s general fund; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Hayward hereby authorizes the City Manager to appropriate $45,000 from the Asset Forfeiture Fund (265) to the General Fund (100) to purchase new equipment for the Hayward Police Department Wellness Center.
