AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH SANBELL FOR CONSULTING SERVICES FOR THE PRELIMINARY ENGINEERING PHASE OF THE SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL IMPLEMENTATION PROJECT, PROJECT NO. 06941 IN AN AMOUNT NOT-TO-EXCEED $685,000 WHEREAS, professional service assistance is needed for the Preliminary Engineering Phase of the Safe Routes to School Implementation Project, Project No. 06941; and WHEREAS, the Preliminary Engineering Phase will provide final plans, specifications and estimates for safe routes to school improvements at twelve (12) schools in Hayward; and WHEREAS, on November 12, 2024, four (4) valid proposals were received and evaluated for the most qualified proposal with Sanbell ranked the highest with an average score of 87.3/100 based on criteria established in the Request for Proposals 25-028; and WHEREAS, the negotiated cost proposal is in the amount of $685,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Hayward that the City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute a professional services agreement with Sanbell for consulting services in a not-to-exceed amount of $685,000, in a form to be approved by the City Attorney.
