RESOLUTION APPOINTING ANA ALVAREZ AS THE CITY MANAGER OF THE
CITY OF HAYWARD, APPROVING THE EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE CITY AND ALVAREZ, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, the City Council embarked on a nationwide search for the next City Manager following the separation of the former City Manager ; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has worked with an executive recruitment firm and considered multiple candidates for the position; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that Ana Alvarez possesses the requisite knowledge, experience, and background to ably serve as the next City Manager for the City of Hayward; and
WHEREAS, the Council and Alvarez have agreed to terms of employment as reflected in a formal employment agreement between the parties; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Hayward hereby approves the appointment of Ana Alvarez as City Manager of the City of Hayward effective January 9 , 2025 , through January 9, 2027, approves the employment terms as reflected in the Employment Agreement, and authorizes the Mayor to execute the agreement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Alvarez will be compensated for her role in accordance with the information identified in the accompanying staff report and employment agreement.
