RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO AWARD A
CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT TO DC ELECTRIC GROUP, INC. FOR THE
TENNYSON ROAD AND WINTON AVENUE SIGNAL COORDINATION PROJECT, PROJECT NO. 05342 IN THE AMOUNT OF $184,541, AND APPROVING $55,362
IN ADMINISTRATIVE CONSTRUCTION CONTINGENCY
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 25-015. On February 18, 202 5, the City Council approved the plans and specifications and call for bids for the Tennyson Road and Winton Avenue Signal Coordination Project, Project No. 05342; and
WHEREAS, on March 11, 2025, five (5) bids were received. The low bid was submitted by DC Electric Group, Inc. The second lowest bid was submitted by Tennyson Electric, LLC.
The Engineer’s Estimate for the project (not including contingency) was $234,860.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby awards the contract for the Tennyson Road and Winton Av enue Signal Coordination Project , Project No. 05342 to DC Electric Group, Inc., in accordance with the plans and specifications adopted therefore and on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Hayward, at and for the price name and stated in the final proposal of the hereinabove specified bidder, and all other bids are hereby rejected.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council that the Director of Public Works is authorized to expend up to $55,362 for construction contingencies to complete the project.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute the contract with DC Electric Group, Inc., in the name of and for and on behalf of the City of Hayward, in a form to be approved by the City Attorney.
