Subject: Re: Fw: KHCGTF Attendance
Miriam and Todd,
I have decided to resign from the Task Force. I appreciate the communications yesterday and recognition that I have contributed a significant amount of time to the Task Force, notwithstanding my absences in August 2024 due to a pre-scheduled family vacation, including many "make up" community events (e.g., Downtown Street Parties, Science in the Park, Airport Open House) as well as numerous policy subcommittee and leadership meetings. I understand that attendance is an objective measure to gauge participation and engagement. Unfortunately, I don't think my work schedule and personal commitments outside the Task Force will allow me to continue volunteering and regularly attending Task Force meetings / clean-up events without missing one. I will likely miss the March 2025 business meeting due to work travel, and I will likely miss the Oct. 2025 clean-up (but not the business meeting) due to a pre-scheduled family vacation (just like 2024). So, it seems I'm not a good fit for the Task Force any longer.
I am very happy to have served the Council and community on the Task Force for several years now, and I wish Todd, Colleen, and Melissa all the best in the coming year. I will continue with my small Adopt-A-Block clean-ups adjacent to my neighborhood. Thank you, --Doug
