RESOLUTION APPROVING THE EXTENSION AND MODIFICATION OF THE
EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF HAYWARD AND CITY
CLERK AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, Employer recognizes Employee’s satisfactory performance; and
WHEREAS, a total compensation market study conducted in February 2025 indicated Employee’s salary was approximately thirteen and eighty-two hundredths percent (13.82%) below the market median for City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, Employee and Employer have agreed to a four percent (4%) Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) and a thirteen and eighty -two hundredths per cent (13.8 2%) equity salary adjustment for a total increase of seventeen and eighty -two hundredths percent (17.82%) effective the pay period including March 24, 2025; a four percent (4%) COLA effective the pay period including July 1, 2025; and a four percent (4%) COLA effective the pay period including July 1, 2026.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Hayward hereby approves the employment agreement between the City of Hayward and the City Clerk beginning April 22, 2025 through June 30, 2027, and authorizes the Mayor to execute the agreement.
