RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPROPRIATE $92,679 TO EMERGENCY STORM RESPONSE PROJECT NO. FD023 FOR DEMOLITION
AND SURVEY SERVICES RELATED TO THE FAIRCLIFF LANDSLIDE
EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, in January 2024, a landslide debris flowed downhill and severely damaged a single-family residential home on Faircliff Street; and
WHEREAS, the City of Hayward and Hayward Area Recreation and Park District (HARD) responded to the incident, including emergency response and temporary stabilization, and long-term mitigation and site stabilization; and
WHEREAS, the land of the hillside is owned and maintained by HARD and to mitigate the impacts of the incident on pri vate properties and to prevent damage to public infrastructure, the City and HARD have agreed to evenly share the total cost for demolition and survey services; and
WHEREAS, the total cost of demolition and survey services is $92,678.60 and HARD’s agreed share of the cost is approximately $46,804.50.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to appropriate $92,679.00 to Emergency Storm Response Project No. FD032 from General Fund (Fund 100) for demolition and survey services related to the Faircliff Landslide Emergency.
