RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND
EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH SAVANT SOLUTIONS FOR INFORMATION
TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT INFRASTRUCTURE SECURITY SERVICES IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $205,000 ANNUALLY
WHEREAS, on June 7th, 2022, City Council approved CONS 22-304 which adopted a resolution authorizing the City Manager to negotiate and execute an agreement with Savant Solutions for Information Technology Department Infrastructure Security Services; and
WHEREAS, after CONS 2 2-304 was approved by City Council, the City of Hayward (“City”) entered into an agreement with Savant Solutions to deliver the desired outcome of serving as a central clearinghouse for cyber-attack log analysis, trend monitoring, as well as augmenting the security defense footprint of the network infrastructure team; and
WHEREAS, Savant Solutions has been the provider of infrastructure security services to the City for five years; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to extend infrastructure security services; and
WHEREAS, the City is utilizing the National Association of State Procurement Officials (NASPO) contract for competitive pricing.
WHEREAS, this cooperative purchasing agreement facilitated by the NASPO allows multiple states and other eligible entities to leverage a single, competitively sourced contract for goods and services which maintains minimum competitive pricing across resellers , the City selected Savant Solutions for these infrastructure security services; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Hayward authorizes and directs the City Manager to negotiate and execute an Agreement with Savant Solutions for Information Technology Department Infrastructure Security Services in an amount not to exceed $205,000 annually, in a form approved by the City Attorney.
