RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HAYWARD DECLARING A CITY COUNCIL RECESS FROM JU LY 1 , 2025 THROUGH AUGUST 15, 202 5; CANCELLING THE REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS SCHEDULED FOR JULY 1, 15, AND 22, AND AUGUST 5, 2025; AND AUTHORIZING THE ACTING CITY MANAGER, OR
THEIR DESIGNEE, TO TAKE ACTION ON ADMINISTRATIVE MATTERS AS NECESSARY
DURING THE RECESS
WHEREAS, each year the City Council takes a summer recess which provides councilmembers time to rejuvenate and spend time with family and loved ones; and
WHEREAS, the City Council typically holds regular meetings on the first, third and fourth Tuesdays of each month; and
WHEREAS, this year, the City Council will recess from Ju ly 1, 2025 through August 15, 2025 (“2025 Summer Recess”); and
WHEREAS, in order to fac ilitate the 2025 Summer Recess, the regular Hayward City Council meetings currently scheduled for July 1, 15 and 2 2, and August 5, 2025 must be cancelled; and
WHEREAS, during the 202 5 Summer Recess, certain administrative matters that typically require City Council approval may require action which cannot be deferred until after the Summer Recess; and
WHEREAS, the Acting City Manager or their designee may be authorized by the City Council to take action on administrative matters involving execution, submission, or filing of documents, as necessary during the Summer Recess.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Hayward , California, that the City Council hereby declares that it shall be on recess from July 1, 2025 through August 15, 2025.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the regular City Council meetings currently scheduled for July 1, 15 and 22, and August 5, 2025 are hereby cancelled.
ATTACHMENT II
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby authorizes the Acting City Manager or their designee , to take action on administrative matters requiring execution, submission, or filing of documents during the City Council’s 202 5 Summer Recess which cannot be deferred until the next regularly scheduled City Council meeting.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that all actions taken by the Acting City Manager or their designee pursuant to this resolution shall be reported to the City Council at the first regular City Council meeting following the 2025 Summer Recess.
