RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE
AGREEMENTS AND OTHER DOCUMENTS WITH THE CALIFORNIA
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (CALTRANS) TO ACCEPT AND
APPROPRIATE STATE AND FEDERAL FUNDED PAYMENTS OF $3,579,372
FOR THE PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC SIGNAL MODIFICATIONS PROJECT, PROJECT NO. 05175; THE INDUSTRIAL PARKWAY/RUUS ROAD BICYCLE NETWORK AND IN TERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT, PROJECT NO. 05716; AND
THE PEDESTRIAN CROSSING UPGRADES ON MINOR ARTERIALS PROJECT, PROJECT NO. 05308
WHEREAS, the Caltrans Highway safety Improvement Program (HSIP) awarded the City of Hayward $2,754,684 in grants for pr ojects to improve pedestrian traffic signals, implement safety improvements at the Industrial Parkway/Ruus Road interchange, make investments in the City’s bicycle network and improve several pedestrian crossings; and
WHEREAS, Caltrans has requested the City Manager be the authorized signing authority for all agreements and documents associated with this grant funding.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to sign and execute agreements from Caltrans to receive the awarded funds for the Pedestrian Traffic Signal Modifications Project, Project No. 05175; the Industrial Parkway/Ruus Road Bicycle Network and Intersection Improvements Project, Project No. 05716; and the Pedestrian Crossing Upgrades on Minor Arterials Project, Project No. 05308
