RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT A $50,000
PAYMENT FROM FAIRVIEW FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT AND TO TRANSFER $100,000 IN MUTUAL AID REIMBURSEMENT FUNDS ANNUALLY TO
FACILITATE THE COMPLETION OF A CONTRACT TO ACQUIRE A
MANAGEMENT FELLOW FROM ICMA FOR A TWO-YEAR TERM WITH THE
HAYWARD FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the Hayward Fire Department has located a qualified management fellow with education and experience in emergency management to bolster disaster preparedness efforts; and
WHEREAS, the department has secured an agreement with the Fairview Fire Protection District to fund $50,000 annually for 2 years to contribute to the cost of this resource; and
WHEREAS, the department has also secured mutual aid reimbursement funds with adequate budget to fund the remaining $100,000 to complete the contract with ICMA.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Hayward approves that the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to accept $50,000 from Fairview Fire Protection District, and approve the transfer of $100,000 in mutual aid funds, and complete the contract with ICMA to onboard a management fellow for the Hayward Fire Department for a 2-year term.
