RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT AND
APPROPRIATE $2 MILLION IN STATE BUDGET FUNDING FOR FIRE STATION
UPGRADES
WHEREAS, the Hayward Fire Department has been identified in Assembly Bill 157, the Budget Act of 2024, as the recipient of $2 million in earmarked budget funds; and
WHEREAS, the usage of this funding is at the discretion of the department as it relates to fire station upgrades; and
WHEREAS, state funding will offset budgetary needs for station upgrades and lessen the burden on City funding.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Hayward that the City Manager is hereby authorized to accept $2 million in state budget funding for fire station upgrades and appropriate that funding into Fund 405.
