SUBJECT: Adopt a Resolution Appointing Amarilis Diaz to the Personnel Commission to Fill the Unexpired Term of Randy Wright
RECOMMENDATION
That the City Council adopts a resol ution (Attachment II) appointing Amarilis Diaz to the Personnel Commission to fill the unexpired term of Randy Wright, which will expire on September 30, 2027.
SUMMARY AND DISCUSSION
The City Council, during its September 2, 202 5 City Council meeting1, confirmed the list of 2025 alternates and selected Amarilis Diaz as the first alternate for the Personnel Commission. On October 13, 2025, M r. Randy Wright , now former chair of the Personnel Commission, submitted a letter of resignation which created an un expected vacancy on the Personnel Commission. Ms. Amarilis Diaz was contacted to confirm her eligibility status and her interest in serving on the Personnel Commission. If appointed to the Personnel Commission, Ms. Amarilis Diaz’s term would be effective i mmediately and would end on September 30, 2027.
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact associated with this action.
STRATEGIC ROADMAP
This agenda item is a routine operational item and does not relate to any of the projects outlined in the Council’s Strategic Roadmap.
NEXT STEPS
Following Council’s action, the oath of affirmation will be administered to Ms. Amarilis Diaz prior to her first Personnel Commission meeting.
