Dear Honorable Mayor and City Council Members,
I understand that the city of Hayward is facing a major financial crisis and needs to make urgent cuts and adjustments to its 2026 budget. You have my sympathy as this will be challenging and no doubt painful.
With that said, I just want to share with you how much many of us value Access Hayward and all the departments that help make it a success. I've been living in Hayward for almost 40 years and I can't believe how much cleaner and more attractive Hayward has become.
This program, along with the Keep Hayward Clean and Green Task Force, are real game changers; people in Union City and Fremont have told me they noticed the positive changes in Hayward too, and wish their cities offered equivalent programs. Having an efficient way for residents to be quickly connected to their city to address problems is a game changer for sure.
I ask that if at all possible the city continues to keep the Access Hayward program and the Keep Hayward Clean and Green Task Force.
Many thanks for your consideration,
Minane
