RESOLUTION APPROVING THE APPROPRIATION OF $264,000 FROM FUND 213 MEASURE B B (PEDESTRIAN & BICYCLE) FOR THE SAFE STREETS HAYWARD PLAN CAPITAL IMPROVMEENT PROGRAM PROJECT NO. 06942 – HIGH INJURY NETWORK, 06943 – SPEED MANAGEMENT PLAN AND 06945 –
EVALUATE ALTERNATIVES TO DOWNTOWN LOOP
WHEREAS, the City was awarded $3,252,000 in funding from the U.S Department of Transportation Safe Streets and Roads for All federal grant; and
WHEREAS, the Safe Streets Hayward Plan created to administer these grant funds and consists of three separate C apital Improvement Program (CIP) projects no. 06942 – High Injury Network, 06943 – Speed Management Plan and 06945 – Evaluate Alternatives to Downtown Loop; and
WHEREAS, staff had originally included a $264,000 General Fund contribution to partially fulfill the required matching portion of $814,000; and
WHEREAS, due to the general fund budget deficit, staff identified a non-General Fund source, Fund 213, Measure BB (Pedestrian & Bicycle), to replace the $264,000 General Fund matching to minimize impact on General Fund; and
WHEREAS, Fund 213 Measure BB (Pedestrian & Bicycle) has sufficient fund balance to cover the expense.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Hayward that $264,000 is appropriated from Fund 213 Measure BB (Pedestrian & Bicycle) to CIP projects no. 06942 – High Injury Network, 06943 – Speed Management Plan and 06945 – Evaluate Alternatives to Downtown Loop.
