RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDMENT TO THE SALARY AND BENEFITS
RESOLUTION FOR UNREPRESENTED EMPLOYEES
WHEREAS, the City of Hayward is facing a budget deficit and is taking measures to reduce costs; and
WHEREAS, the City of Hayward must realize cost saving measures for the upcoming fiscal year 2026-27 to eliminate the budget deficit; and
WHEREAS, the City’s Executive Team supports deferring the four percent (4%) Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) increase due for unrepresented executive classifications at the beginning of Fiscal Year 2026- 27 to the pay period including June 30, 2027 ; and the three percent (3%) COLA due at the beginning of Fiscal Year 2026 -27 for unrepresented non- executive classifications will be deferred to the pay period including June 30, 2027.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Hayward hereby approves the amendment to the Salary and Benefits Resolution for Unrepresented Employees.
