RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDMENT TO THE EMPLOYMENT
AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF HAYWARD AND THE CITY ATTORNEY
AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, the City of Hayward is facing a budget deficit and is taking measures to reduce costs; and
WHEREAS, the City of Hayward must realize cost saving measures for the upcoming Fiscal Year 2026-27; and
WHEREAS, the City’s Executive Team supports deferring the Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) increase due for unrepresented executive classifications at the beginning of Fiscal Year 2026-27 to the end of Fiscal Year 2026-27; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to his employment agreement, the City Attorney is due a four percent (4%) COLA increase at the beginning of Fiscal Year 2026-27and has agreed to defer that increase to the end of Fiscal Year 2026-27.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Hayward hereby approves amendment to the employment agreement between the City of Hayward and the City Attorney.
