RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE REPORT AND CODE ENFORCEMENT
PROGRAMS ASSESSMENT LIST ING AND AUTHORIZING TRANSMITTAL OF
ASSESSMENTS TO THE COUNTY ASSESSOR FOR COLLECTION ASSOCIATED
WITH PAST DUE CODE ENFORCEMENT FEES AND PENALTIES FOR THE PERIOD OF MAY 1, 2025, THROUGH APRIL 30, 2026
WHEREAS, In connection with the Community Preservation Program, the Code Enforcement Manager has re ndered an itemized report included in the Code Enforcement Programs Assessment Listing (Attachment – III) to this Council showing the Community Preservation, violations and cost of fines, fees and penalties of abating community preservation violations, and violations of other adopted codes or regulations in the City of Hayward as described in the report, all as required by section 5-7.100 of the Municipal Code of the City of Hayward; and
WHEREAS, In connection with the City of Residential Rental Inspection Program, the Code Enforcement Manager has rendered an itemized report included in the Code Enforcement Programs Assessment Listing , specifying the amount of unpaid program and other fees and penalty charges imposed during the above identified period , and the names and addresses of owners of inspected rental units, including hotel and motel units, all as required by section 9-5.503 of the Municipal Code of the City of Hayward; and
WHEREAS, In connection with the City of Residential Rent Stabilization and Tenant Protection Ordinance, the Rent Review Officer has rendered an itemized report included in the Code Enforcement Programs Assessment Listing , specifying the amount of unpaid program and other fees and penalty charges imposed during the above identified period, and the names and addresses of owners of inspected rental units, including hotel and motel units, all as required by section 12-1.17 of the Municipal Code of the City of Hayward; and
WHEREAS, The hour of 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, in the Council Chambers, City Hall, 777 B Street, Hayward, California, was fixed as the time and place for this Council to receive and consider the report, and a copy of the report has been posted and published in the manner required by section(s)5-7.110 and 9-5.504 of the Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, The hearing was held at the time and place fixed, and the City Council has considered the report and assessment list and all comments with respect thereto.
ATTACHMENT II
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Hayward that, except as amended by Council, the report of the Code Enforcement Manager of the Code Enforcement Division on the cost of causing the correction, repair, or abatement of violations on the properties therein described, a copy of which is attached hereto, is hereby confirmed.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that payments of assessments confirmed hereby may be received by the City of Hayward Finance Director up to the hour of 5:00 p.m. on August 1, 2026, and thereafter, the Finance Director shall transmit the unpaid assessments to the County Auditor for collection on the property tax roll.
