RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND
EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT TO THE MASTER LEASE AGREEMENT WITH
THE HAYWARD AREA RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT TO ADD LA VISTA PARK
WHEREAS, on July 1, 2023, the City of Hayward and the Hayward Area Recreation and Park District entered into a Master Lease Agreement (MLA) establishing the framework for HARD’s operation and maintenance of City park properties identified in Exhibit A of the agreement; and
WHEREAS, the MLA originally included 31 park sites owned by the City; and
WHEREAS, the City is currently constructing La Vista Park, a new destination park located in South Hayward east of the intersection of Mission Boulevard and Tennyson Road; and
WHEREAS, upon completion of construction, La Vista Park is intended to be operated and maintained by HARD consistent with the existing partnership between the City and HARD for park operations and maintenance services; and
WHEREAS, the City and HARD desire to amend the MLA to add La Vista Park to the list of leased park properties identified in Exhibit A of the agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Hayward that the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to negotiate and execute an amendment to the Master Lease Agreement with the Hayward Area Recreation and Park District to add La Vista Park to the list of leased park properties , in a form approved by the City Attorney.
