RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND
EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH ALAMEDA COUNTY TO CONTINUE
HAYWARD FIRE DEPARTMENT ’S PARTICIPATION IN THE ALAMEDA
COUNTY OPERATIONAL AREA EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ORGANIZATION FROM 2026 THROUGH 2035
WHEREAS, The State established the s tandardized emergency management system (SEMS) to ensure a unified and coordinated effort between state and local government agencies to facilitate mutual aid and to ensure the effective and efficient use of regional and local resources in the event of a catastrophe; and
WHEREAS, Hayward has participated in the Alameda County SEMS Operational Area since it was established in 1995, at no cost to the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Hayward authorizes the City Manager to negotiate and execute an agreement with Alameda County to continue participation in the Alameda County Operational Area Emergency Mana gement Organization through the year 2035.
